OFN welcomes 19 new member CDFIs

WASHINGTON, DC (July 21, 2020) – OFN welcomed 19 new member Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to their network of more than 300 other member organizations. Growth Opps is excited to be among the group. OFN provides industry-leading advocacy, financial services, research and marketing support for CDFIs and other opportunity finance practitioners and stakeholders. Growth Opps’ membership will allow it to leverage the collective knowledge of OFN and its other member organizations to increase impact on the community and help in shaping the industry.

Growth Opps was no stranger to OFN. Growth Opps has engaged with OFN as an ally member since 2016. Through this affiliation, Growth Opps has participated in national publications with OFN, in addition to being featured in articles and archives with OFN.

CDFIs are private financial institutions that provide fair, transparent financing and financial education to people and communities underserved by mainstream financial institutions. There are more than 1,100 CDFIs working in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. OFN’s more than 300 members serve 58% people of color, 85% low-income and 26% rural communities, and 48% women (OFN Annual Member Survey, 2018). Nationwide, the CDFI industry manages more than $222 billion.

“OFN has been a wonderful thought partner and supporter of Growth Opps. Becoming a full member is one of several ways we can show our appreciation and support for the value OFN brings to the mission-based CDFI community. Our respective organizations learn, grow, and share knowledge together,” said Michael Jeans, Growth Opps President and CEO.
